Awamaki Impact Manager: Eliza Wethey

Eliza Wethey

Impact Manager

Hometown: Columbia, SC

Eliza first traveled to Peru while studying abroad in college and fell in love with the Sacred Valley and Cusco. After completing her Master’s degree, she returned to Peru and spent nearly nine years living and working in the Cusco region. During that time, she worked with various nonprofit organizations, managing service-learning programs and supporting community development initiatives. Eliza then returned to the United States, where she worked at a university overseeing service-learning programs throughout Latin America. Most recently, she served with the U.S. government, managing grants in the Caribbean and Peru. In late 2025, Eliza was excited to return to Peru to work directly with Awamaki, where she now manages grants and supports individual volunteers.
