Awamaki Sustainable Tourism Manager: Gabriela Franco

Gabriela Franco

Sustainable Tourism Manager

Hometown: Cusco, Peru

Gabriela grew up between Lima and Cusco, which is why she proudly considers both places home. As Awamaki’s Tourism Coordinator, she organizes and supports every aspect of our travel experiences, from logistics and partnerships in tourism, to guiding visitors and working closely with local communities.

She loves learning directly from the communities she works with, spending time in nature, and traveling whenever she gets the chance. One of her favorite things about her role is being a cultural bridge between Awamaki’s artisan partners and travelers, helping create meaningful connections on both sides.

Favorite Peruvian Dish or Meal: Lomo saltado with pasta and huancaína sauce

Favorite Place to Visit in Peru: Cordillera Azul National Park, a breathtaking protected area in the Peruvian Amazon
